Steps To Install Marble Floor Tile

Every estate must have luxurious-looking walls, floors, furniture, and interior décor. Hiring a professional for interior work may be very expensive, but they will do their job correctly. Marble flooring tile is the most famous home décor project. People frequently search online for advice on how to install marble floor tiles. The building materials reporter has provided simple instructions that anyone may use to quickly and easily install marble floor tiles. Here mentioned are the steps involved in installing marble tile flooring:

Prepare the sub-floor:

The same subfloor preparation is needed for marble floor tile as for any other tile. Before placing in marble tile, the subfloor must be flat, smooth, and water-resistant. Remove the bottom layers and expose the plywood flooring underneath if the flooring is already installed. To make the floor more resilient and abrasion-resistant, cover the plywood layer with cement board as soon as you reach it.

Make a line for reference:

Divide the space into four equal parts before beginning the floor’s installation of marble flooring tile. The room’s centre should be located. Divide the space into four equal quadrants using a T-scale, and then begin tiling in the last quadrant from the extreme. Make sure to start placing the tile in the middle of the space and work your way outward toward the wall. Leave enough space to exit the area without tripping over any tiles.

Spreading mortar:

The base of the floor should be covered with prepared mortar in the appropriate proportion. When putting marble flooring, a mortar with a ratio of 1:6 is typically utilised. The mortar should be made in batches to cover the floor base’s smaller surface. Remember that the prepared mortar must be consumed in 2 to 3 hours.

Install the marble tile:

Incorporate the marble tile into the glue. Make sure you apply enough glue so a single marble tile can easily cover it. Gently set the first marble flooring tile into position while rotating it to ensure that it adjusts by the adhesive below.

Cut the tiles if necessary:

You should cut the tile once you have completed each quadrant’s installation. Cut these tiles with a wet saw. If you don’t have one, you can rent a wet saw or ask your tile installer to cut the tile to the correct sizes for you. Tiles may need to be trimmed from the underside for flooring with water pipes.

Seal and grout the tile:

Once the marble flooring tile has dried below, seal them. Try sealing two or three layers of tile. Once the sealant has been set, grout the tiles using a grout flow to distribute the grout in a uniform coating over the gaps. Your floor tiles can now be used when they have dried. Then finally, wipe the tiles.

Wrapping it up:

The floor should be polished and waxed to get the desired finish once it has set. It is best to choose or prepare the filler material in a hue that complements the marble pattern. You should follow the correct marble pattern to have a perfect finish. Installing tiles for your home can add value to your house.
